pear of posters

These posters were created as part of a first-year digital class assignment, which focused on expanding our skills across a range of software. These two outcomes are my favourites, both exploring how individuals can make more environmentally conscious choices.

I believe this pear of posters reflect a more lighthearted aspect of my creative personality. I enjoy using playful, satyrical approaches to tackle serious topics, encouraging people to rethink their everyday habits through humour and gentle provocation.

My ‘and this little piggy got eaten’ poster, made using Adobe Illustrator, aimed to encourage a reduction in meat consumption thorugh acknowledging pigs advanced cognative abilities. Through juxtaposing a bold statement with such childish visualisation, individuals are drawn in and then educated on the topic of animal welfare.

My ‘grow a pear’ poster, made using photoshop, encourages people to grow their own fruit and vegetables at home as an alternative to relying on supermarket produce—when, where, and if possible. I was lucky to grow up with root veggies, berries, and apples at home, and that experience shaped my appreciation for home-grown food. However, having just moved into a new share house, I now realise how tricky this practice can be to start. Darebin City Council have created a free online ‘seasonal guide on when to sow vegetable and herb seeds’ PDF that can be accessed here.
